Job Description
Growing manufacturer with multi-state production facilities is seeking Accounting Manager to be responsible for performance of accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, general accounting, tax reporting, and financial reporting functions. Proven experience in hands-on role needed. Ability to collaborate with functional leaders in finance, sales, customer service, manufacturing, supply chain, information technology, and human resources a must.
ROLE AND DUTIES
- Manage team of accounting specialists who post daily cash, payables, and receivables transactions
- Prepare month end journal entries
- Prepare month end account reconciliations and account analysis
- Prepare financial reports and analysis
- Analyze, document, and improve business processes by leveraging accounting data
- Support accounting systems implementation and technology deployment
- Develop and maintain written SOPs for accounting procedures and controls
- Ensure business transactions are approved and documented in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Support business accounting needs with after hours and weekend support as needed
- Be ERP subject matter expert for accounting function
- Prepare sales and property tax reports
- Work with outside accountants on annual audited financial and tax returns
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in manufacturing environment
- Broad knowledge of general and tax accounting
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management and time management skills
