Job Description
Buyer will be planning and developing a strategy to enable the company to sell a range of products that delivers sales and profit targets. The buyer is responsible for creating the purchase orders and to track the orders to completion, alerting management on the status of the orders as needed. The Buyer will be purchasing from oversees, working directly with factories and needs a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Creating/preparing/entering purchase orders (PO's) in the system
Tracking all PO's and ensuring that final PO has been received
Answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed
Follows up on all late PO's with vendors
Review ship dates and cancel or make approved revisions
Assist in merchandise shipment follow up with any cost discrepancies / vendor charge backs
Maintain strong working relationships with vendors
Request and track samples from vendors
Assist with new product development and product improvements
Inventory reporting, e.g. generates reports on inventory for Head Buyer
Perform other duties as assigned
