    Position Summary

    The Manufacturing Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, fitting, testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of precision mechanical and electro-mechanical products supporting Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial manufacturing programs. This position requires a skilled tradesperson capable of interpreting engineering drawings, assembling complex components, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring products meet strict quality and customer specifications.

    The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety, and quality.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components from engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures.

    Utilize hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic presses, arbor presses, torque tools, and measuring equipment.

    Perform precision fitting, drilling, tapping, reaming, fastening, staking, riveting, bonding, and press-fit operations.

    Install bearings, bushings, seals, pins, fasteners, springs, electrical connectors, and other precision components.

    Perform soldering, wiring, cable termination, and basic electrical assembly when required.

    Conduct continuity, resistance, insulation, functional, and operational testing using multimeters, test fixtures, and specialized testing equipment.

    Troubleshoot assembly issues and recommend corrective actions.

    Identify defective parts, nonconforming materials, and process improvements.

    Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly prints, bills of material (BOMs), and military specifications.

    Maintain accurate production records and inspection documentation.

    Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments including:

    Calipers

    Micrometers

    Height gauges

    Pin gauges

    Thread gauges

    Torque measuring devices

    Work closely with Engineering, Machining, Quality, and Production departments to resolve manufacturing issues.

    Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas following 5S principles.

    Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and DoD manufacturing requirements.

    Qualifications

    Required

    3+ years of manufacturing or assembly experience.

    Ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints.

    Experience using precision measuring equipment.

    Proficient with hand and power tools.

    Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.

    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    Preferred

    Experience with Department of Defense manufacturing.

    IPC soldering experience.

    Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies.

    Experience assembling machined aluminum and steel components.

    Familiarity with military specifications and quality systems.

    Forklift and overhead crane experience.

    Basic computer skills for production documentation.
