    Job Description

    Responsible for specifying, designing, implementing and testing software solutions. Builds high quality, innovative, and fully performing software on projects such as motion and instrument control, user interfaces, data analysis and visualization graphics, and re-usable application frameworks.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of software in accordance with business standards and sound engineering principles
    • Performs research as required to specify, design, implement, and test software features and capabilities for new and existing products
    • Diagnoses and debug problems with your software or problems arising when your software interacts or integrates with other products
    • Collaborates with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and other members of the design team to implement solutions that take into account project limitations and performance requirements
    • Prepares training manuals to educate users on specific product design specifications and functionality
    • May interface with customers to determine the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • B. S. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics, mechatronics, physics, or software engineering or B. A. in computer science (3.2 minimum overall GPA)
    • Strong understanding of computers and high-level programming languages (C++, .NET)
    • Experience developing Windows applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
    • No relocation/local candidates only

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS​

    • Understanding of operating system components, system architecture principles, data structures and Agile development methodologies
    • Experience interfacing and controlling external instrumentation
    • Additional programming skills: C#, WPF, Web Development/Cloud, and LabVIEW
