    Manufacturing Electrician

    Position Overview

    The Manufacturing Electrician plays a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production equipment across the facility. This position requires advanced electrical knowledge alongside strong mechanical aptitude to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Diagnose and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, PLC‑controlled equipment, sensors, relays, and power distribution components.
    • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on both electrical and mechanical systems to maximize equipment uptime.
    • Troubleshoot complex equipment failures using electrical schematics, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic software.
    • Install, modify, and upgrade electrical components such as control panels, wiring, conduit, and automation hardware.
    • Support production teams by responding quickly to equipment issues and providing technical guidance.
    • Document maintenance activities including repairs, parts usage, and recommended improvements.
    • Collaborate with engineering on equipment upgrades, root‑cause analysis, and process improvements.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards including lockout/tagout, electrical codes, and facility procedures.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills in industrial or manufacturing environments.
    • Strong understanding of PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar) including I/O, sensors, and control logic basics.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics , mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
    • Experience with AC/DC motors , VFDs, servo systems, and industrial controls.
    • Solid mechanical aptitude including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, and gear systems.
    • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imagers.
    • Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to work independently under pressure.
    • Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional teamwork.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent technical certification.
    • Experience with automation systems , robotics, or advanced manufacturing equipment.
    • CMMS proficiency for work order management and maintenance tracking.
    • Lean manufacturing or TPM exposure.

    Physical & Work Environment Requirements

    • Ability to work in a fast‑paced industrial setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
    • Capability to lift 50+ pounds , climb ladders, and work in tight spaces as needed.
    • Flexibility for shift work , overtime, and on‑call rotations.
