  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary

    Acting as a lead, provides significant expertise on a variety of complex manufacturing issues to increase capabilities to produce new and existing Axillon products. Directly impacts all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation, as well as the sustainability and growth efforts of operations.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Acts as a lead, providing advanced expertise on a variety of complex manufacturing issues to increase capabilities to produce new and existing Axillon products.
    • Designs, improves, and installs integrated systems, procedures, and processes in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment. Establishes and maintains labor standards to monitor direct/indirect labor and machine performance
    • Coordinates all phases of cost reduction to improve manufacturing profits. Forecasts labor and equipment requirements to ensure adequate equipment, machine, and labor capacity. Provides objective functional and financial engineering guidance on capital expenditures to division management and follows up on implementation process
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Required Skills

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education Level: (Required): **** Bachelor's Degree **** in Engineering or equivalent experience

    **** (Preferred): ** **Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience ****

    Field of Study/Area of Experience: **** 5+ years of experience. 6 Sigma/Lean professional certification a plus

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities List

    • Demonstrated expertise with complex mechanical engineering solutions, and concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity)
    • Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving
    • Proficient knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
    • Advanced knowledge of data structures and database programming
    • Ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge
    • Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
    • Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
    • Ability to research and analyze data effectively
    • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
    • Strong prioritization skills
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

    Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements

    Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
