Our client, a precision manufacturing and engineering company serving the aerospace and defense industries, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Spartanburg, SC.
They will support process optimization, equipment performance, and product development within a high-precision production environment.
The ideal candidate ill bring strong technical expertise in CNC programming, manufacturing processes, and industrial engineering, with experience in high-precision manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and assembly line operations to improve efficiency and product quality
Program and troubleshoot CNC machines, including 5-axis CNC programming using Mastercam, ensuring reliable and unattended operation
Conduct root cause analysis to resolve production, quality, or equipment issues and implement corrective actions
Design and support tooling, fixtures, and fabrication processes required for manufacturing operations
Lead continuous improvement initiatives including Lean manufacturing and ISO 9001 process improvements
Support robotics integration, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies
Perform equipment maintenance, calibration, and upgrades to maximize machine uptime and reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on production planning, process development, and factory layout improvements
Support quality control technologies such as vision inspection systems for defect detection
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards within manufacturing and fabrication environments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace manufacturing environment
Strong hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and tooling design
Experience with CNC programming (CAM, GD&T) and Mastercam, including 5-axis machining
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and ISO 9001 standards
Experience performing root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone)
Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment producing small precision components.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional manufacturing environment
