    Job Description

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop, evaluate, implement, and improve manufacturing methods. Maintain related prints and documentation. Lead and participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and problem solving. Evaluates suggestions. Project management, milestone reporting and value analysis are key components.
    • Lead and participate in Kaizen events to identify and eliminate waste, improve processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Conduct Gemba walks to observe operations firsthand, engage with frontline employees, and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Apply Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, and visual management to optimize production flow and reduce non-value-added activities.
    • Provide detailed die specifications for equipment purchases and acceptance.
    • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
    • Analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
    • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
    • Confers with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
    • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
    • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
    • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
    • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
    • Specify, install, debug and train personnel on new equipment and processes to enhance the assembly of Larson product.
    • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
    • Involved in specifying and installation of equipment to enhance the assembly of Larson products.
    • May require travel to other Larson facilities.
    • Must abide by all Larson policies.
    • Must be courteous and maintain a good working relationship with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related dicipline

    • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and hands-on experience implementing Kaizen and Gemba practices.

    • Proficiency in project management, milestone tracking, and value analysis.

    Additional Information

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $60,000 USD - $99,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
