    Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Location: Hudson, Ohio

    Shift: 8am-4:00pm (M-F)

    Salary: $75k-90k

    Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

    • Translate customer requirements into manufacturing drawing(s) with internal Control Limits where possible.
    • CNC Programming: Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi-axis machines using Mastercam CAD/CAM software and SolidWorks CAM. Write/edit G-code, select tools and optimize cycle time.
    • 3D Modeling and Design: Create, modify, and interpret CAD models and technical drawings for manufacturing new parts or fixtures, ensuring manufacturability and fit-for-purpose design.
    • Tool Path Creation: Generate and simulate tool paths within CAM software to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate machining, selecting appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
    • Process Setup and Optimization: Collaborate with machinists and operators to set up CNC equipment, prove out programs, perform first-article inspections, and recommend improvements for cycle time, tool wear, and process consistency.
    • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve issues in machining processes, such as dimensional out-of-tolerance conditions, surface finish defects, tool breakage, or machine alarms, leveraging root cause analysis and corrective action.
    • Continual Improvement: Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, improve process reliability, and lower manufacturing costs.
    • Documentation and Standards Compliance: Create and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and ensure compliance with industry or customer-specific quality standards (such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100).
    • Coordinate manufacturing process design information back to Engineering & Quality to develop effective Advanced Product Quality & Planning PFMEA and Control Plans.
    • Support efforts to reduce production costs by optimizing tool life and minimizing cycle times of machining operations. Monitor trends in data/metrics to prioritize department projects.
    • Support the quote process by assessing product Design for Manufacturability, feasibility, and tool costs for in-house manufacturing steps.
    • Participate in customer presentations covering RAMCO manufacturing processes, as needed.
    • Participate in supporting QC with root cause analysis and resolution for defects that result in internal or external customer concerns or NCRs.
    • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Has responsibility for following personal and departmental requirements of Quality Assurance systems and programs, including compliance with their requirements, are satisfied.
    • Responsible for promoting and following through with Quality Philosophy and ensuring departmental objectives are met.
    • Other various duties, as assigned, aligned with meeting company or departmental objectives.

    Mechanical Engineer Reporting Relationships:
    Reports to: Engineering Manager
    Direct Reports: None

    About You:

    • 5+ years CNC machining and programming experience. Automotive Tier 1 industry experience desirable.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred. Relevant job experience in lieu of Engineering Degree acceptable.
