Job Description
Responsible for evaluating alternatives leading to the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products to optimize cost and quality
Owns all aspects of process engineering, industrial engineering, production standard costs, tooling and equipment procurement
Improves operating performance, identifies and reduces waste, and troubleshoots manufacturing issues
Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs
Applies knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
Works with equipment vendors and gathers input from operators
Develops manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment
Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies
Identifies opportunities to improve products or reduce costs using fabrication, tooling, equipment, assembly, and quality standards
Determines root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommends corrective actions
Evaluates manufactured products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
Implements new methods and processes to improve existing operations
Investigates and resolves operational problems such as material variances and bottlenecks
Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures
Provides technical expertise and support related to manufacturing
Coordinates scrap reduction, rework elimination, material and labor variance reduction, safety and ergonomic evaluations, and continuous improvement activities
Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Reads and interprets customer and industry specifications
Maintains proper documentation including traceability, customer requirements, and production routers
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes including assembly and testing
Strong leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency in written and spoken English
0–3 years of manufacturing or related experience
Proficiency with CAD software; AutoCAD is a plus
