****Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time equipment engineer to join our talented manufacturing team.
This position requires a flexible schedule and the willingness to work occasional overtime. Position will be responsible for multiple activities including future planning, project execution, improving operational efficiency, ensuring a safe working environment and periodic maintenance and repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Deliverables include PM procedures, effectively maintain semiconductor manufacturing equipment, technical guidance and assistance with troubleshooting repairs, and ongoing projects to improve equipment efficiency on the LAM Etch Platforms. Metrics include Equipment OEE, Equipment Availability & Overall Equipment Cost/Mask Move.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Working hours: 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Required hours to keep assigned area running as smoothly as possible.
- Work is performed within a clean room environment that requires the wearing of a smock, hood, booties, latex gloves, and safety glasses.
- A safety-minded approach is required: employees must learn, understand and follow all safety documentation, specs and protocols, including LOTO. Must also be able to identify and eliminate safety concerns and regulatory violations.
- High quality standard for all equipment operations and outputs
- Seek out and collect data (SPC, FDC, OLPMs) to make data-based decisions. Uses data to determine root causes for equipment excursions.
- Identifies abnormal tool conditions and execute corrective actions.
- Directs one's own work at a high level and demonstrates advanced leadership skills for small teams
- Sought out as a subject matter expert for assigned area.
- Has technical knowledge of the equipment and sub-systems within assigned area. Subsystems could include electromechanical systems, electro-pneumatic systems, Rf delivery systems, chems & gas delivery systems, and vacuum systems.
- Develops sufficient process knowledge to understand recipes, FDC signals and expected process outputs.
- Ability to seek out and develop equipment efficiency improvements.
- Possesses strong structured problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to develop schedules for equipment installations and work with the OEM as well as in-house resources to achieve the project milestones.
- Mentor technicians with respect to new procedures and equipment troubleshooting.
- Maintain equipment preventative maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshooting could require the use of airline respirator, wearing of personal protective equipment, working with hazardous gases and chemicals, working with high voltages and high temperatures and lifting of objects that weigh up to 50 lbs
- Reviews tool histories for all area tools looking for common themes and proposes improvements / repairs and executes on them.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong semiconductor equipment knowledge.
- Comfortable handling chemicals (including acids, bases, and solvents) and gases.
- Ability to troubleshooting subsystems including electromechanical systems, electro-pneumatic systems, Rf delivery systems, chems & gas delivery systems, and vacuum systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Ability to work well in a collaborative environment, and as part of a team.
- The flexibility to work outside of normal schedule as needed.
- Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively create clear and concise specifications for PM procedures & check sheets.
- Should also possess excellent interpersonal skills to provide technical direction to technicians and periodic technical updates to management.
- Must have excellent project management skills and project execution acumen.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and taking ownership of equipment within your assigned area.
Education & Experience
- B.S. in Engineering or relevant technical discipline, or Military Equivalent.
- Demonstrable Equipment Engineering skills & experiences.
- Strong semiconductor equipment experience, preferably in plasma etch, preferred.
