    We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineer to support product development, production optimization, and engineering innovation across our commercial product line.

    Position Overview

    The Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineer will play a critical role in bridging product design and production. This position is responsible for improving manufacturability, supporting new product development, optimizing production workflows, and ensuring mechanical integrity and quality standards across Ferla’s commercial mobility products.

    This is a hands-on role that requires collaboration with engineering, production, supply chain, and leadership teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    Mechanical Engineering & Product Development

    Design and improve mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for commercial cargo bikes and mobile vending platforms.

    Assembling Commercial Products and Overseeing the Assembly Process

    Support prototype development, testing, and validation processes.

    Manufacturing & Production Engineering

    Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost control.

    Identify opportunities for automation, tooling improvements, and workflow optimization.

    Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

    Support production line setup and documentation including SOPs and work instructions.

    Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.

    Quality & Compliance

    Establish quality control procedures and inspection standards.

    Work with suppliers to ensure component quality and manufacturability.

    Support regulatory compliance requirements (UL, CE, safety standards where applicable).

    Conduct root cause analysis for product or production issues.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    Work closely with supply chain teams on sourcing, vendor evaluation, and cost reduction.

    Collaborate with leadership on product strategy and engineering roadmaps.

    Provide technical support to sales and operations teams when needed.

    Qualifications

    Required

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

    3+ years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical design, or product engineering.

    Experience with fabrication processes (welding, machining, sheet metal, composites, etc.).

    Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and production methods.

    Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills.

    Preferred

    Experience in mobility products, bicycles, electric vehicles, or consumer hardware.

    Familiarity with electrical integration in mechanical systems.

    Hands-on prototyping or shop experience.
