    Job Description

    The Manufacturing Reliability Manager provides day-to-day leadership and expertise in reliability management activities that analyze and evaluate equipment, components, and process using methodologies and tools aligned with Strategic Asset Management. The Manager aligns people, resources, and methods with the critical objectives for reliability in machine and equipment design standards as well as operational goals. The Manufacturing Reliability manager will provide leadership and support for the achievement of company operating plans and objectives as it pertains to manufacturing assets and mobile equipment. The Manager coordinates and partners with Plant Maintenance Managers providing oversight and alignment to strategic maintenance goals and objectives of the company. Being a Reliability expert develops capacity for analysis, testing, and measurement that produce effective risk-based failure mitigation plans and actionable proposals for new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes, and testing specifications. The Manager leads teams and mentors’ operations staff in problem-solving, best practices, and process improvement to achieve organizational objectives.

    ** Maintenance**

    • Defines strategic Maintenance goals and objectives. Leads monthly meetings to review objectives and plant tracking towards these objectives.
    • Oversight of the development and upkeep of BBNA Strategic Asset Management Plan
    • Business Owner of requirements for BBNA’s Computerized Maintenance Management System
    • Leads and directs analytical processes to determine predictive maintenance approaches
    • Standardizes Maintenance processes, performance metrics and creates staffing Role Descriptions
    • Implements, utilizes, and supports BBNA’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (MMS)
    • Leads, mentors, and manages a group of reliability engineers and automation engineers to support the overall fleet of manufacturing assets
    • Develops, manages, and supports the Maintenance Skills Training program (MST)
    • Leads efforts for maintenance technician peoplepower planning
    • Maintains the company Maintenance SharePoint site
    • Assists facilities with the selection and hiring of Maintenance Managers and development of Maintenance Planners for the company

    ** Capital Project Management**

    • Leads the analysis and findings regarding improvement and benefit streams as it pertains to major capital projects. Participates and leads in new equipment acquisitions and equipment rebuilds. This could include buying off on equipment, assisting with install and commissioning of equipment and developing Preventive Maintenance instructions, AM’s, Lock Out Tag Out instructions, Job Safety Analysis, Work Instructions, etc.
    • Works with partner suppliers within an assets life cycle to ensure optimum use of manufacturing equipment

    ** Manufacturing Excellence Support**

    • Provides technical assistance for modifications to or the development of new manufacturing processes. This includes modifications to forming, fabrication, welding, finishing and packaging of current product as well as manufacturing of new products
    • Oversees Mobile Equipment specifications, Code of Practice compliance, and selection and maintenance of cost reduction activities
    • Leads overhead crane inspection program and is an active member of the corporate crane network for Code of Practice development
    • Supports management in generating cost reduction ideas and implementing cost reduction projects
    • Assists Product Excellence and Innovation groups on new products by obtaining quotes and lead times on new equipment, manufacturability of parts, and new product justification as needed
    • Maintains an understanding of current industry manufacturing technologies to support company and plant initiatives
    • Administers company policies and maintains satisfactory employee relations

    ** Safety**

    • Participates in the management and adherence to certifications of equipment, manufacturing parts, and material
    • Ensures all new equipment purchases and/or rebuilds comply with OSHA and company safety standards
    • Serves as a safety liaison and champion for procedure development and modifications of: Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Contractor Management, Equipment Safe Access, Lift Plans, etc.
    • Supports company and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management to resolve issues resulting from Incident Reports and Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM’s)
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

    • 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

    • Manufacturing Engineering experience

    • Proven capabilities successfully managing significant projects such as Plant start-ups, shutdowns, restructuring, equipment purchases, etc. over $5M

    • Experience in equipment schematics and documentation including electrical and hydraulic drawings

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of company products and the Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) industry

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Competent in AutoCAD
    • Microsoft Office competency
    • Microsoft Project competency
    • Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance, Lean techniques, visual shop floor management, etc.
    • Ability to develop written procedures, work instructions and specifications
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities
