Manufacturing Sales Engineer / CNC ProgrammerJob Overview
We are seeking a hands-on CNC Programmer with strong manufacturing engineering capability to support both production and customer-facing technical needs.
The primary focus of this role is to convert existing drawings into CAD models, implement CAM programming, and develop efficient CNC programs for production. This individual will play a key role in modernizing our programming processes and improving manufacturing efficiency.
This position will also support customer applications, manufacturability reviews, and technical sales efforts. The role works closely with the Production Manager, machinists, and leadership team, while focusing on optimizing current equipment and preparing for future advanced machining and automation capabilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Programming & Manufacturing Engineering (Primary Focus)
Convert legacy drawings into 3D CAD models and CAM programs
Lead implementation and use of CAD/CAM programming to replace manual G-code
Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines
Work closely with machinists to improve setups, tooling, and machining processes
Support setup, tooling, and programming of CNC equipment
Assist in transitioning existing programs to CAM while maintaining or improving quality and efficiency
Perform cycle time analysis and drive process improvements to increase throughput and reduce cost
Maintain organized digital drawings, programs, and engineering documentation
Identify opportunities for tooling, process, and equipment improvements
Sales & Applications Support (Secondary Focus)
Support quoting by reviewing drawings for manufacturability and defining machining approach
Serve as a technical resource for customers on product applications and fitment
Assist with resolving customer issues related to product performance or manufacturability
Work with internal sales team to answer technical questions and support customer needs
Build working knowledge of company products and manufacturing capabilities
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in CNC machining and programming (required)
Strong experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
Hands-on machining background strongly preferred (former machinist ideal)
Experience with multi-axis machining or complex parts preferred
Strong understanding of tooling, setups, and machining processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and determine manufacturability
Experience improving processes, cycle times, and production efficiency
Ability to communicate technical information with internal teams and customers
