Manufacturing Shop Janitor

Job Summary

Join our manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Shop Janitor, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This position is essential to our operations, ensuring that our manufacturing facility meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safety while supporting our production teams in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of manufacturing shop floors, work areas, and production zones through regular sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing
• Remove debris, scrap materials, and waste products from manufacturing areas to ensure safe walkways and work spaces
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas throughout the facility
• Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins, ensuring proper waste segregation and disposal
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuum systems
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, paper products, and restroom amenities
• Assist with maintaining inventory of janitorial supplies and report needs to supervisors
• Support manufacturing teams by keeping work areas organized and free of safety hazards

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Basic understanding of industrial cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in manufacturing or industrial facilities
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and workplace safety practices
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and maintenance procedures
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
• Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) preferred

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with industrial cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers and pressure washers
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and mixing procedures
• Understanding of safety protocols for working around manufacturing equipment
• Basic maintenance skills for cleaning equipment upkeep
• Ability to read and follow safety data sheets (SDS) and cleaning instructions
