Power Parts is recruiting for a Shop Supervisor to contribute to the success of our Houston location. PPI is an industry leader in the design, manufacturing, and processing of high-quality, high-performance material handling systems. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SUCCESSFUL SHOP SUPERVISOR?
The job requires about 35% of the time in an office environment, with the remainder of the time spent on Shop floor work. Frequent exposure to shop/inventory/shipping areas to obtain or furnish information.
Ensure that all employees work in a safe manner and maintain a clean and well-kept environment. Also ensures that all subordinates adhere to all company policies and procedures. Ensures all subordinates receive the training required for the job and said training has been documented in employees’ profile.
Shop floor work as needed. Fabrication and Welding are necessary
Overseeing large- and small-scale projects.
Overseeing the installation of systems on the customer's job site.
Inventory management, including issuing material, shipping parts to customers and receiving parts from vendors.
Travel as needed for projects.
Directly supervises employees throughout production. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Liaises with the Manager on issues including organization, shortage, and unnecessary waste.
Ensures that all products are assembled according to customer instructions.
Ensures work is assigned correctly and completed with PPI quality, productivity, and safety specifications.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience supervising a team and meeting deadlines
Welding
Fabrication
Read and understand blueprints
Project management experience
Inventory supervision experience preferred
Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems preferred.
Ability to operate standard construction equipment, such as power and pneumatic tools, as well as measuring devices
Forklift experience is a must
PC skills; including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Current valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
Satisfactory drug screening and reference check
