  • Responsibilities

    Description   Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) is recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician (Day Shift). This position must be based at an active Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC) Pharmaceutical or Consumer site in Malvern, PA.

    This position is responsible for performing manufacturing procedures and the execution of scheduled tasks within a cGMP environment. Applicant will be maintaining the highest standards in compliance within company policies, procedures and all applicable regulations. Additionally, will be responsible for encouraging site pride and J&J citizenship.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Independently execute manufacturing or manufacturing-support processes according to standard operating procedures and current curriculum.

    • Support schedule adjustments to meet production, material receipt and shipping requirements; Review visual schedule.

    • Retrieve and analyze trend charts and process data on trained procedures.

    • Verify and enter production parameters per SOP and Batch Records.

    • Accurately complete documentation in SOP’s, logbooks and other GMP documents.

    • Maintain equipment and instruments.

    • Demonstrate training progression through assigned curriculum.

    • Accountable for maintaining a working knowledge of basic cGMP requirements to ensure adherence to compliance policies and regulations

    • Wear the appropriate PPE when working in manufacturing and other hazardous working environments.

    • Proactively maintain a clean and safe work environment. Take necessary action to eliminate safety hazards and communicate to others any observed unsafe behaviors

    • Ensure materials are available for production.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Offer suggestions and follow up on process improvements related to safety, compliance, cost, yield and productivity.

    • Carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including FDA, EPA and OSHA.

    • Adhere to the safety code of Conduct & J&J EHS policies and attend all required EHS training.

    • Follow Leadership Imperatives based on their leadership level within the organization (individual leader)

    • Support the ongoing production schedule by: Report to work on-time and according to the shift schedule.

    • Attend departmental and other scheduled meetings.

    • Practice good interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Demonstrate positive, collaborative approach in the day to day execution of procedures.

    • Promote and work within a team environment

    • Learn new skills, procedures and processes as assigned by management and continue to develop expertise.

    • Support “Operator Asset Care” program for manufacturing areas

    • Responsible for audit preparation and participation

    • Review and understand non-conformances

    Qualifications   Education:

    • 0-2 Years Biotech/Pharmaceutical experience or equivalent industry experience

    • Minimum Associates Degree required.

    • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:

    • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

    • Follow detailed procedures and work instructions in a GMP environment

    • Ability to make innovation part of the site agenda and be an active driver of innovation; think outside of the box and challenge others to do the same.

    • Is frequently required to communicate with coworkers.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb, bend and stoop; and reach with hands and arms.

    • Ability to lift 20 lbs.

    • Needs to perform gowning procedures to work in manufacturing core.

    Preferred:

    • Ability to be mobile and able to independently transport themselves between various sites/locations, as detailed by the essential functions and responsibilities of the position.

    • Tackle practical problems and deal with myriad concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Other:

    • Applicant must have high proficiency in English to be able to read and understand relevent GMP documentation and converse with peers and management.
