    Position Overview

    QAD is looking for a mid- to senior-level Manufacturing and Design Engineer **** to join our team. What sets us apart is that nearly all aspects of our product development and manufacturing take place in-house—including plastic molding, raw material preparation, machining, inspection, laser engraving, assembly, and packaging. This broad scope creates a unique and dynamic engineering role that spans a wide range of responsibilities and encourages continuous learning. Engineers at QAD are expected to contribute across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to:

    • Product Design : CAD modeling, stress analysis, material selection, tolerance analysis, and technical drawing creation.

    • Product Testing : Acoustic testing, thermal and stress analysis, and high-speed video analysis.

    • Manufacturing Support : CNC programming, process control, fixture design for assembly, procedure documentation, and robot programming.

    • Quality Control : Vision inspection system programming and implementation.

    This is a diverse, hands-on role ideal for engineers who thrive in a multifaceted environment and are eager to grow their skills across disciplines.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the design and development of new products, fixtures, and tooling using SolidWorks and SolidWorks CAM.

    • Execute functional testing, analyze results, and refine systems through iterative troubleshooting and adjustment.

    • Deliver technical support for existing machines and operations, including process documentation and updates to work instructions.

    • Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing downtime, and supporting lean manufacturing principles.

    • Participate in cross-functional projects involving R&D, quality, and operations.Shape

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment (co-op or full-time).

    • Proficiency in CAD Modeling (SolidWorks preferred)

    • Familiarity with CAM software (SolidWorks Cam Preferred).

    • Working knowledge of CNC equipment, mechanical systems, and manual tools (e.g., lathes, drills, mills).

    • Understanding of technical drawings and GD&T.

    • Experience with process troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

    • Detail-oriented with a strong problem-solving mindset.

    • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.

    • Self-directed, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities under minimal supervision.

    • A team player with a continuous improvement focus and respect for craftsmanship and quality.
