Provide support services for families to promote stabilization and safety . Provide visitation supervision and family coaching to families and children during scheduled appointments in the Community or on site at office. Provide advocacy and life skills services to families and teens.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide crisis management whenever called to a family’s home
Provide education around trauma and its effects on children and families.
Provide information and contacts for community resources
Provide appropriate level of supervision and intervention required by the referral source.
Utilize coaching and modeling strategies to align with and engage families using trauma informed care principles
Participate in Family Team Meetings
Testify in court as needed
Develop goals for visitation and/ or coaching with the input of the Case Worker and the family
Assist with the orientation of families to program guidelines and expectations
Provide concrete services in the home as needed to include organization, cleaning, structure, and activities.
Complete and submit work diaries, timesheets, and expenses on required dates.
Comply with Employee Handbook policies.
Participate actively in supervision.
Attend team meetings as specified by the supervisor and discuss progress to determine possible changes or other adjustments to schedules and treatment goals and objectives.
Work a flexible schedule that may specify part-time or as needed PRN scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and be available for crisis support when requested. Scheduled hours and days may vary for PRN staff in order to meet current staffing needs.
Notification of the direct supervisor is required no later than eight hours prior to a scheduled shift when the worker is unavailable
Staff may be required to use their own vehicle for transportation of clients and must be able to provide their own transportation to and from their assigned place of work.
Staff may be expected to assist client in accessing community resources
Staff are expected to build a working relationship with the parent or caretaker and teach and model appropriate limit setting and follow through.
Assist with development of parenting skills, education and implementation of trauma informed care principles with clients.
Other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor or Regional Director.
Education
High School Diploma
Experience
6months preferred relative experience
Effective organizational skills including the ability to think clearly and logically; to problem solve effectively; written and oral communication skills; and the ability to function with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of local agencies and other community resources that may serve youth, families, and foster care services.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Proof of valid Driver License with clean driving record, as well as valid auto insurance
CPR/First Aid – provided by agency
Ability to pass fingerprinting and background checks
