About Your Role:
Maple Star Nevada is looking for a Therapist-Intern to ensure mental health treatment services are provided in a way that maximizes client independence and family empowerment. Provide individual and group counseling services to reduce symptoms of DSM 5 diagnoses.The Person in This Role Will...
Provide individual (adult and children), group and family therapy
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
Evaluate data to identify causes of problem of individuals and to determine advisability of counseling or may refer to other specialist or institutions
Conduct counseling or therapeutic interviews to assist individual to gain insight into personal problems, define goals, and plan action reflecting interest, abilities, and needs
Follow up results of counseling to determine reliability and validity of treatment used
Document in medical record according to requirements of company and regulatory agencies
Provide crisis intervention consultation
Possibly be required to provide a minimum number of hours weekly, as specified by supervisor
Possibly provide consultation and recommendations to human services agencies
Participate in program development and staff in-services
Provide crisis intervention consultation
Participate in staff meetings as required
Does the Following Apply to You?
Master’s degree from accredited school in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
Must be licensed as LCSW, MFT, or CPC, or an intern in these areas.
Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance
Minimum of three years’ experience with mental health patients (in and out
Must have clinical knowledge regarding evidence based therapeutic interventions
Strong clinical and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal skills
Intermediate PC skills required
