Maple Star Oregon, a Pathways agency, has been serving Oregon's children and families throughout the state since 1998. Our current foster homes are located throughout the I5 corridor stretching from Portland to Lane County. Maple Star is a Child Caring Agency both overseeing foster parent certification and case management for youth in foster care. As a partner with Pathways Behavioral Health, Maple Star has access to the experience of an organization that currently employs more than 5000 employees, providing a variety of high-quality community-based human services in 17 states and the District of Columbia.
Maple Star is searching for exceptional individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of youth who have experienced significant trauma. Maple Star's Therapeutic Foster Care program serves youth who benefit from a higher level of support and supervision due to challenging behaviors as well as pre- and post-adjudicated youth in Multnomah County. Family Care Coordinators (FCCs) are responsible for the case management and oversight of these youth placed in Maple Star certified therapeutic foster homes as well as the support of Family Care Providers (FCPs). FCCs have direct involvement in service planning, assessments, and weekly contractual contact with youth on their caseload to promote skill development and address youth behavioral challenges. This position is also part of an after-hours/weekend on-call rotation. This position primarily serves youth and families in the tri-county area.
PAY: Starting at $17.30 per hour plus on-call stipend, with increases for experience and masters level education
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience in the care and rehabilitation of at risk youth and young adults, preferably as a case manager OR a relevant Master's degree and one (1) year of experience
Possess a valid driver license with a reasonably clean driving record and access to a safe and reliable vehicle
The ideal candidate will:
Collaborate and communicate efficiently and professionally with community partners
Possess skills to build rapport with youth and young adults
Experience working with pre- or post-adjudicated youth or youth with gang involvement preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred and/or possess an understanding of Latino culture
