    Job Description

    Marbles Kids Museum opened our doors in 2007 with a mission to spark imagination, discovery, and learning through play. Located in the heart of Downtown Raleigh, today Marbles ranks among the top family destinations in North Carolina, offering a wide array of hands-on, minds-on learning experiences for a diverse audience. 

    Position Overview: Marbles Development Team is responsible for soliciting and securing private donations to support the museum’s mission and vision. Currently, the Development Team’s focus is on helping Marbles financially recover from an extended closure due to COVID-19. A critical part of the Development Team, the Development Intern will gain real world experience as they support all fundraising operations for Marbles, including donor stewardship, donor tracking, donor research, event coordination and other tasks as assigned. This is an unpaid internship with expectations of around 4 hours per week of work. 

    Responsibilities Can Include: 

    • Donor stewardship, including preparing and mailing thank you letters. 

    • Data entry and other administrative duties to ensure Development functions run smoothly. 

    • Research donors, grants, and other potential sources of funding for Marbles. 

    • Assistance with fundraising campaigns and other events as applicable. 

    • Other duties as assigned by the Development Team.

     

    Requirements & Expectations: 

    • This is an unpaid internship with expectations of around 4 hours per week of work at the museum. 

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office a plus: Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and Outlook. 

    • Passion for the mission of Marbles Kids Museum and the importance of fundraising and donor relations. 

    • Outstanding communication skills and excellent customer service skills. 

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at a time. 

    • Self-motivated, prompt, responsive and flexible in terms of daily routine. 

    • Able to work collaboratively or autonomously as needed.
