Job Description

The Runway Design Intern will assist the designers of the Ready to Wear Design team for the upcoming season line. The intern will be involved with sourcing materials, sketches, fittings, embroideries, sewing and overall preparation for the fashion show.

The overall goal for the internship is to get a better understanding of the design process in a high-end fashion environment by experiencing first-hand the process of a season from design to production.

The intern will gain knowledge and experience by participating in hands-on related tasks and shadowing collection designers in all aspects of designing a collection from drawing inspiration to fittings for the runway show.

The intern will assist with the following tasks:

•          Sourcing fabrics and trims

•          Researching fabrics and materials

•          Organizing and using the brand design library

•          Assisting designers in pattern making, sketching, sewing, etc.

•          Creating artwork

Qualifications

Requirements:

•          Must have valid US work authorization at the time of the internship

•          Must be proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator

•          Able to take initiative and multitask

•          Experience with embroidery, swatching, fabrics, etc.

•          Familiarity with sample room environment

•          Able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
