OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Data Scientist with software and data engineering experience. This role is responsible for developing and enhancing Mareana’s products in supply chain and unstructured data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. He/She must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building/implementing models, using/creating algorithms, and creating/running simulations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

·      Select features, and build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques

·      Mine data using state-of-the-art methods

·      Extend the company’s data with third party sources of information when needed

·      Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

·      Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis

·      Conduct ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner

·      Create automated anomaly detection systems and ensure constant tracking of their performance

REQUIREMENTS

·      Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field

·      Solid background in mathematics. Good understanding of statistics fundamentals including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, etc.

·      5-7 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models

·      Machine learning: both classical and modern methods of regression and classification

·      Strong computer science fundamentals. Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

·      Hands-on experience with SciKit Learning

·      Hands-on experience designing and implementing data pipelines

·      Hands-on data wrangling experience using pandas and PySpark.

·      Proficient in Python

·      Object-oriented programming and software design patterns

·      Experience in high-level design and architecture of applications.

·      Test-driven code development.

·      Microservice-based application development

·      Solid understanding of Linux.

·      Databases: Neo4j, influxdb

·      Monitoring: Prometheus/Grafana stack

·      DevOps: docker, CI/CD pipeline. 

·      Python packages: pandas, scikit, NumPy, matplotlib, flask, celery, etc.
