    JOB SUMMARY:

    Marex North America is looking for a highly motivated, new attorney with an interest in joining the in-house legal department at a growing financial services brokerage company. You will be joining a small, dynamic legal team with an opportunity to assist in a wide variety of contracts, transactions, and general corporate areas. 

    This position will report to the Head of Legal – North America and provide direct transactional support to internal groups as well as work closely with outside counsel on a variety of regulatory, litigation and corporate related matters.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts for the company's sales organization across multiple asset classes including securities, futures, swaps, and OTC products
    • Interpret and advise on new and existing vendor agreements, amendments, and terminations
    • Support ongoing company-wide contracting initiatives, including third-party risk management, policy development, template standardization and adoption of contract-related technologies
    • Assist compliance and operations staff to expand brokerage products and clearing services offerings
    • Support human resources with employment contracts, policy drafting and research
    • Provide support to senior counsel with regulatory inquiries, discovery management, and subpoena responses
    • Maintain and improve corporate governance database; draft and finalize company resolutions
    • Assess legal risks and collaborate with internal groups and advise managers, senior leaders, and operational teams on legal matters
    • Offering counsel on a variety of legal issues, as well as collaborate with both internal and external counsel as needed
    • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS REQUIRED

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQURIED:

    • Experience or interest in contract review and labor & employment law
    • Proof of passed State Bar Exam and proof of good standing
    • J.D. from an ABA – accredited law school
    • Ability to think critically and diligently about complex legal documents at all phases of the legal process
    • Ability to translate legal advice into a concise, straightforward manner to non-lawyers both orally and in writing
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to provide internal clients with practical, risk-appropriate and timely legal advice
    • Ability to prioritize competing projects and priorities
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to interact with all levels of Marex employees and external counsel
