Marex Spectron is a global leader in the commodity broking industry with a strong presence in Chicago via the Rosenthal Collins Group. 

We are currently searching for someone to join our finance team in Chicago.  This is a position that would be perfectly suited to someone already forging a career in accounting who is looking to make a name for themselves in a growing organisation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that information delivered to management and brokers is accurate - researching and analysing accounts, preparing financial reports, reconciling the general ledger, posting journals and invoices and helping to close the books at month end.  You'll be in close contact with the front office - preparing daily analysis and reports for the brokers, clarifying information about commissions, allocating costs and getting heavily involved with the daily net capital computations - investigating inconsistencies and analysing variances.  You will have the opportunity to cross-train with colleagues in order to provide backup and develop your skills as well as getting involved with any streamlining or automation projects that arise.

This role will suit someone with a degree in finance and an understanding of basic accounting processes and GAAP.  You will have experience of working with MS Office with particular focus on Excel.  You will have close attention to detail and an analytical approach to data - trying to understand what's going on behind the numbers rather than simply recording information. If you've got experience of using PeopleSoft, that would be preferred.
