Training & Development Manager
SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsible for creating, developing, implementing and assessing the effectiveness of training and development policy and programs to enhance the overall skills and career development of all Team members.
REQUIREMENTS
Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or equivalent education and/or experience preferred
Two or more years experience as a trainer in hospitality, preferably in the local market within a luxury hospitality setting.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, vendors, guests, members and government agencies.
Excellent customer service and positive interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong writing and editing abilities and outstanding presentation skills, including ability to professionally speak in public and in front of groups.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, and proficiency or the ability to learn quickly with little assistance other software packages.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Good judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality are critical.
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops training and development policies that meet the needs of all staff members and management team at the property level.
Delivers all corporate training programs.
Monitor and tracks all property trainings; as the gate keeper for training ensuring all departments are in compliance with yearly training calendar.
Develops and distributes training and development schedule each quarter and produces a monthly calendar.
Creates and develops materials for training as needed.
Implements and presents corporate wide training and development programs and initiatives.
Creates and maintains updated records of staff member participation in all training and development courses, and creates and produces reports accordingly.
Coaches staff members on skills and career development.
Conducts yearly property learning & development needs assessment, and makes recommendations with regards to programs needed.
Delivers and ensures compliance with all training required by both state and federal laws (i.e. alcohol and food certifications, respectful workplace training, etc.).
Maintains and manages learning & development library including internal and external training and career development opportunities.
Administers the Staff member educational assistance policies and produces usage reports accordingly.
Works with Executive Committee Members, Department heads, managers and departmental trainers to ensure On the Job Training, and New hire training programs are successful.
Maintains positive working relationships with all staff members and any external customer that comes into contact with the HR Department or MGV.
Undertakes and performs special projects and assignments as assigned.
Makes recommendations for new programs, and policies.
Guides and coaches department trainers in a Monthly training settings; as well as, via e-mail or one and one sessions.
Support the Employee Opinion Survey by conducting monthly meetings to ensure departments are promoting the "Fish Philosophy" and positive work environment.
SKILLS AND ABILITY TO:
Work independently and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines; understand and implement administrative policies and procedures; conduct administrative research and analysis; collect, evaluate and interpret varied data, evaluate alternatives and reach sound conclusions; use word processing, graphics, spreadsheet and database programs to develop reports, databases and communications materials; compose correspondence; type at rate of 50 net words per minute from printed copy; coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

This position reports to the Director of Hotel Human Resources
