Landscape Construction Accounts Receivable Specialist
Marina Landscape, Inc. is looking to hire highly-motivated individuals for the Landscape Construction Accounts Receivable Specialist position at our Southern California Branch. This non-exempt position is responsible for all accounts receivable tasks, administrative support, and related accounting functions; performs related work as required.
Essential Functions
- Ensures proper distribution, retrieval, and reconciliation of progress billings;
- establishes and maintains accounts receivable files and other financial records;
- performs billing functions;
- processes cash receipts and handles credit balances;
- responds to questions and makes calls regarding overdue
- bills and billing problems;
- reconciles and adjusts accounts as appropriate;
- reconciles billings, accounts, and bank statements;
- analyzes past due accounts and initiates collection efforts verbally or in writing;
- prepares invoices for data processing;
- prepares regular periodic and special accounting reports;
- verifies that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures;
- prepares, verifies, and processes invoices and coding payment to the General Ledger;
- prepares batches of invoices for data entry;
- enters payment data; maintains up-to-date billing system;
- conducts billing, collections, and reporting activities according to deadlines;
- monitors customer account details for non payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities;
- maintains accounts receivable customer files;
- prepares bank deposits;
- interacts and communicates with internal and external customers;
- participates in month end closing activities;
- uses computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, company software);
- maintains customer copy contract files;
- maintains client billing files of all billings issued and copies of checks;
- attends meetings;
- posts receipts of checks paying outstanding billings;
- manages outstanding receivables confirming, receipt of billings, timetable for processing payment, and timely collection; and
- provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner.

Education/Experience
- An example of the preferred education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and competencies for this position includes: at least two (2) years of professional experience involving basic accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and administrative responsibilities equivalent to that described above.

- License: Incumbents are not required to possess a valid California driver's license.
- Language: Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are required of this job classification.
- Certifications: No certifications are required of this job classification.
- Working Conditions: Work is predominately in an office environment with associated noise, space, and computer screen exposure.
- Background Investigation: Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Prior to appointment, candidates are subject to a background investigation and/or drug test.
- Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification will serve an introductory period of three months
