MARITIME - VESSEL SUPPORT SPECIALIST / DATA ENTRY / DISPATCHER

ENTRY-LEVEL: YOU WILL BE TRAINED FOR THIS POSITION

The Vessel Support Specialist (VSS) is responsible for real-time tracking and logging of the movements of commercial vessels in the San Francisco Bay. VSS provides live support and maritime information to the membership of the Marine Exchange.

• This is a part-time position that can lead to a full-time position with benefits.
• After the training period, the regular pay is $26.00 per hour and $39.00 per hour when on overtime.
• A regular, full shift is 12 hours.
• 8 hours at the regular rate and 4 hours at the overtime rate.
• Holidays worked are paid at 8 hours overtime and 4 hours double time.
• The training pay rate is $22.00 per hour and is usually a 6-week period.
• The part-time position will be approximately 24 hours per week.
• When and if the position becomes full-time, it is an 8-day cycle with 48 hours worked. 4 days on (12-hour shifts), and 4 days off.

VSS COMMUNICATE USING PHONE, RADIO, AND EMAIL TO RELAY MESSAGES SEND NOTIFICATIONS AND PROVIDE MARITIME EXPERTISE.

• Talking on telephone and radio, translating information into data and messages.
