Marine Technician

Benfield Marine is a growing, family-owned marine service company looking for a motivated Marine Technician to join our team. We specialize in mobile and in-shop boat repair, maintenance, and fiberglass services across Middle Tennessee.

Pay: Competitive, based on experience and skill level

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair marine engines and systems (inboard, outboard, sterndrive)

Use diagnostic tools/software to troubleshoot engine and electrical issues

Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, impellers, lower unit service, battery testing, winterization)

Conduct full-system inspections (electrical, fuel, steering, propulsion)

Complete service documentation accurately and follow shop procedures

Communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly with customers

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude (marine experience preferred, but not required)

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Dependable with a solid work ethic

Good communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Valid driver’s license preferred (for mobile service calls)
