    Job Description

    HYBRID REMOTE: In-office Tuesday -Thursday. Monday & Friday Work Remotely

    We are seeking a Financial Controller with experience managing $40M+ in revenue. The Financial Controller will manage all aspects of the accounting department and its operations to ensure accurate financial record keeping, assist with budget and forecast preparations, develop and monitor internal control policies/procedures, and assist with financial risk management. Experience with small businesses is strongly preferred.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    MANAGEMENT

    • Manage finance & accounting operations and accounting personnel, including training/skill level, resource utilization, and advancement
    • Develop and maintain internal accounting policies and procedures
    • Support ad-hoc finance and operational projects

     

    TRANSACTIONS

    • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, revenue recognition, multi-company/intercompany transactions, and consolidations
    • Maintain quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

    REPORTING

    • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
    • Maintain Cashflow forecast process
    • Manage/prepare timely and accurate month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing & reporting package including utilization, financials with footnotes, cap table, analysis, dashboard updates, and MD&A
    • Prepare management and board reports as needed

    COMPLIANCE

    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Assist with audit/tax preparation
    • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • MBA/Masters in Business, Finance, or Accounting
    • Active CPA certification preferred
    • Minimum five years of accounting experience,
    • Three years supervising 5+ employees  in accounting 
    • Two plus years' accounting manager or controller experience within Public Accounting.
    • Advanced Excel knowledge required (pivot tables, macros, etc.). Advanced QuickBooks and/or other accounting software skills are required. 
    • GAAP, tax, financial statement consolidations, logistics, and process orientation
    • Excellent and professional written and oral communication skills required
    • Positive attitude, assertive, effective, and professional
    • Must be able to know the difference between activity and progress
    • Ability to multi-task and adjust to current business needs daily
    • Strong organizational skills
