The Opportunity
EUA is seeking a Market Leader to drive growth and thought leadership within a key strategic market segment. This role is designed for an entrepreneurial leader who brings deep industry expertise, strong client relationships, and the ability to translate market insights into new business opportunities for the firm.
The Market Leader will serve as a seller–doer, responsible for developing relationships with owners, developers, and industry leaders while helping position EUA as a trusted partner early in project conversations. The ideal candidate understands the dynamics of the market they represent and can “talk the talk” with prospective clients, identify emerging trends, and translate those insights into opportunities that ultimately become projects for the firm. In addition to external market leadership, this individual will play a critical internal role in shaping strategy. The Market Leader will collaborate closely with firm leadership to define client targets, guide business development priorities, and develop short- and long-term strategic goals that advance EUA’s presence within the market.
This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape and grow a market practice within a respected architecture and engineering firm, bringing influence, autonomy, and the ability to define how the market evolves over time.
What You Will Bring:
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience within architecture, development, planning, or related built environment sectors, particularly within mixed-use, multifamily, or residential markets.
- Demonstrated success building relationships with developers, owners, and decision-makers within the target market.
- Strong business development capabilities with a proven ability to originate and influence project opportunities.
- Deep understanding of market trends, development economics, and how projects move from concept to execution.
- Ability to translate market knowledge into early-stage development guidance for clients (site utilization, redevelopment opportunities, repositioning strategies, etc.).
- Strategic mindset capable of developing market strategies and helping shape the firm’s long-term positioning.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and credibility with senior stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial drive with the ability to identify opportunities and proactively pursue them.
- Ability to travel approximately 40–50% initially to establish relationships and market presence, with travel expected to decrease over time as the network matures.
Nice-to-have:
- Existing relationships with developers or ownership groups within the firm’s priority markets.
- Prior experience leading or building a market practice within an architecture or design firm.
- Background balancing business development with project involvement (“seller–doer” model).
