Overview

A regional healthcare system in Asheville, NC is seeking a Market Vice President of Patient Safety to lead multi-facility patient safety and risk management strategy.

This executive role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, safety culture, and measurable reductions in patient harm across multiple hospitals within the market.

The position partners closely with the Market Chief Medical Officer and Market Quality leadership , requiring strong executive presence, influence, and system-level thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient safety and risk management strategy across multiple facilities
• Drive system-wide initiatives to reduce preventable harm
• Oversee safety culture advancement and high-reliability practices
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.)
• Partner with executive leadership, physicians, and clinical teams
• Lead patient safety education and performance improvement initiatives
• Oversee event review, risk mitigation, and claims-related activities
• Manage cross-facility quality and safety projects
• Support regulatory readiness and accreditation efforts
• Lead and develop a multi-site patient safety team (~9 FTEs)
