MOW YOLO APPROACH
Meals on Wheels Yolo County (“MOW Yolo”) is adding a Marketing Content Specialist to our already inspired team who will:
Develop smart, clever, effective, and emotionally resonant written content.
Manage the MOW Yolo social media platforms and other digital media content.
Maintain and manage print and electronic media assets and resources.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners alike.
Positively represent MOW Yolo both internally and externally.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Content Specialist reports to the Engagement Manager and collaborates with Engagement Department colleagues to effectively communicate the MOW Yolo mission, connecting and inspiring the community with MOW Yolo programs and opportunities to support them. This is accomplished via compelling storytelling, narrative, and reporting in multiple formats and channels.

USUAL WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION:
Part-time, 25 hours/week, Monday-Friday, schedule to be determined with the supervisor. Evening/weekend/after-hours work required. Primary work location is the Meals on Wheels Yolo County (MOW Yolo) Administrative Office in Woodland with time spent in the field at locations throughout Yolo County. Remote work may be available occasionally with supervisor’s advance approval.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Written content development, inclusive of (but not limited to) traditional and digital media, and grant narratives and reporting
Social Media and digital content management
Media relations management
Internal/cross-department and external collaboration
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in marketing, social media management, journalism, and/or public relations, ideally in a social services/nonprofit environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Exceptional written communications skills with the ability to adapt tone for diverse platforms and purposes (i.e. - from clever social posts to formal grant language, etc.).
Experience with social media management and website content development.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign/Photoshop), Canva or similar design tools, and Constant Contact or similar e-marketing platforms.
POSITION LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current California Driver’s License
Proof of automobile insurance
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$30.00 per hour, payable per the regular payroll schedule and subject to applicable withholding and payroll taxes and other deductions required by law. Part-time employees receive vacation and sick time accrual, 11 paid holidays annually, and the option to participate in a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan.
