Marketing Director for a High Growth EV Charging Company
Our client is the fastest-growing company in the EV charging sector. It is backed by a large institutional fund committed to deploying infrastructure capital over the long-term. This, combined with the blue-chip talent the company has already attracted from the EV sector has enabled it to create a competitive advantage as it increasingly focuses on and wins large enterprise accounts. The company prides itself in being a high-performance environment which combines a focus on excellence in execution with fierce collaboration and a commitment to collegiality. They are seeking a strategic and tactical Marketing Director who is willing to roll up their sleeves and do work, and has an ability to leverage numerous marketing vehicles, solve complex problems, and support the company’s well-defined sales strategy. This person will be responsible for managing and helping to implement a sophisticated, highly targeted marketing program that continues to position the business as a leader in the EV charging space.
This is an in-person role based in Santa Monica (Los Angeles), CA.
Responsibilities:
- Support the enterprise solutions and sales groups to help capture and manage the 1000 or so target corporate customers of the Company
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement effective marketing campaigns that will drive leads and meet business objectives
- Own and evolve the company’s visual identity, tone of voice, and core messaging across all platforms
Oversee collateral creation, website design and management, and sales material customization, with an eye towards incorporating sales strategy into ongoing messaging
- Ensure strong presence for the company at several trade shows each year; curating messaging, physical presence, and speaking opportunities for key executives
- Manage relationships with external design teams to ensure brand alignment and delivery, while managing to a reasonable marketing budget
- Set goals and KPIs for marketing initiatives; leveraging data and feedback to continuously refine targeting, messaging, and performance
- Stay up-to-date with the marketing landscape and competition, changing and adapting the overall strategy in accordance with relevant external factors
- Help evolve and continue to execute the marketing strategy precisely focused on acquisition and retention of key enterprise-level accounts across multifamily real estate, hospitality, parking, and other verticals
- Drive an integrated approach to project and vendor management
- Create and implement a lifecycle and retention marketing strategy with a goal of building enterprise relationships, upselling, and generating referrals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, required; MBA or advanced degree, a plus
- 8+ years of experience in marketing, brand, and communications operations and strategy – B2B targeting enterprise clients is far more important than consumer marketing
- Extensive experience with project and vendor management
- Marketing operations and execution experience, with experience in sales-focused retention and lifecycle marketing/CRM
- Copywriting background is a big plus
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Ability to create marketing and sales collateral and ensure a consistent voice, messaging, and tone across the board
- Track record of owning and executing complex projects independently
- Ability to use data to gather insights and make decisions through creative problem-solving
- Deep experience in Hub Spot is helpful, and a familiarity with the use of AI Marketing tools, a plus
- Demonstrated experience driving marketing to successful outcomes and proof of a willingness to execute the details.
Compensation: Targeting a base salary of $160-$180k, DOE, with up to 20% bonus available pending performance review
