OVERVIEW
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Marketing Intern to support our marketing and communications initiatives. This temporary internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing while contributing to a mission-driven organization that impacts youth and families across Eastern North Carolina. The Marketing Intern will work directly under the supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications and contribute to strategic efforts aimed at promoting programs, events, and community engagement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including posts, graphics, videos, and stories.
Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns for programs, fundraising initiatives, and special events.
Conduct basic market research and help identify trends, audience behavior, and strategic engagement opportunities.
Assist in the creation and distribution of printed and digital materials, such as flyers, brochures, and email newsletters.
Maintain and update website content to ensure relevance and consistency with brand standards.
Monitor analytics and provide performance reports on digital marketing efforts.
Collaborate with team members and site staff to gather stories, photos, and other media to support marketing content.
Perform other marketing and communications duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
Must submit three (3) professional references.
Must complete BSAC training (company-paid) within three (3) months of employment. (Childcare Site Only)
Must complete CPR training within three (3) months of employment (Childcare Site Only)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in social media content creation
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and scheduling tools.
Basic graphic design skills and experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
A genuine passion for the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain and a desire to make a positive impact.
HEALTH AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must successfully complete a drug screening, background check, fingerprinting, health examination and TB test prior to employment.
ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Marketing Intern will primarily work in an office or hybrid environment, with occasional on-site work at Club locations or community events. The position involves routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and digital media tools.
Typical working conditions include:
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk.
Use of a computer and other digital tools for extended periods.
Occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 25 pounds (e.g., marketing materials or event supplies).
Occasional travel to local Club sites or event venues, with mileage reimbursement provided in accordance with organizational policy.
Exposure to typical indoor office conditions with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or environmental hazards.
