Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and creative Director of Marketing & Communications to lead our internal and external marketing initiatives. This role will serve as a brand builder, storyteller, people leader, and strategic business partner, driving high-impact communications that align with our growth strategy. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Grand Prairie, TX.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies aligned with company goals.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to position Polk as an industry leader.
- Partner with business development to support complex pursuits and proposals in key verticals: data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, government, higher education, hospitality.
- Oversee crisis communications and ensure consistent messaging.
Brand Development & Creative Execution
- Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and materials.
- Drive integrated campaigns (digital, print, social, events) that promote employee engagement and market presence.
- Lead the development of creative proposals, social media calendars, and distinctive internal campaigns.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a team of marketing and communication professionals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Support and mentor marketing staff at our partner company, TriplePoint.
- Oversee third-party vendors and creative partners.
Data, Tools & Technology
- Leverage analytics, AI tools, Airtable, and HubSpot to track campaign performance and optimize processes.
- Translate data into actionable insights and communicate impact to leadership.
- Maintain accuracy in Polk’s prequalification and marketing documentation.
Relationship & Reputation Management
- Act as Polk’s brand ambassador at conferences, trade shows, and client-facing events.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, media, stakeholders, and industry organizations.
- Lead internal communications that align with company values and employee experience.
Budget Management
- Oversee and manage the marketing budget.
- Support internal teams in planning budgets for marketing-supported initiatives (employee recognition, company events, etc.).
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 8+ years in marketing and communications leadership, preferably in construction or B2B industries.
- Experience leading teams and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Strong communication, brand, and project management skills.
- Proficient in marketing tech tools (AI, Airtable, HubSpot).
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in supporting sales and pursuit strategy.
- Familiarity with internal comms, employee experience, and event coordination.
- Understanding of proposal development and prequalification processes.
