We are seeking motivated, compassionate, and creative interns to join our team as Marketing & Community Outreach Interns. This internship is ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in healthcare marketing, nonprofit outreach, social services, communications, or community engagement.
Position Summary
The Marketing & Community Outreach Intern will support the agency’s efforts to increase community awareness, strengthen partnerships, and expand outreach throughout Maryland. Interns will assist with social media marketing, community engagement, referral outreach, event coordination, and relationship-building with local organizations and stakeholders.
This role offers hands-on experience in healthcare outreach, nonprofit marketing, and community relations while making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Engagement
Assist in building relationships with service coordinators, schools, hospitals, advocacy groups, and community organizations.
Participate in community events, resource fairs, networking events, and outreach activities.
Help coordinate informational sessions, webinars, and community engagement initiatives.
Conduct outreach calls and follow-up emails to potential partners and referral sources.
Support efforts to increase awareness of agency programs and services across Maryland.
Marketing & Communications
Manage and create content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
Help design flyers, brochures, newsletters, and promotional materials.
Support email marketing campaigns and community communications.
Contribute ideas for marketing campaigns that align with the agency’s mission and goals.
Help maintain a professional and engaging online presence.
Business Development Support
Track outreach efforts and assist with maintaining referral and partnership databases.
Research new partnership opportunities and community resources.
Assist leadership with outreach strategy planning and marketing initiatives.
Help gather data and feedback on outreach effectiveness.
Qualifications
Current college student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, Business and Management, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for community service and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
Comfortable communicating professionally through phone calls, email, and social media.
Creative, organized, and self-motivated.
Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or social media platforms is a plus.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally within Maryland preferred.
