Marketing and Event Assistant
Position Title: Marketing and Event Assistant
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Specialist
Position Overview: The Marketing and Event Assistant will report to the Marketing Specialist and support in executing various marketing initiatives and managing fundraising events. This role requires a highly organized and creative individual who can manage multiple tasks and maintain positive relationships with donors, vendors, and volunteers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensure all necessary supplies are available for events.
* Procure live and silent auction items, as well as raffle items.
* Manage logistics and coordination of events on site.
* Handle event follow-up, including payments and thank-you notes to vendors, volunteers, and donors.
* Independently coordinate various monthly events to fundraise and engage donors outside of our major annual event.
* Find venues and partners to host the organization's dipjar, small fundraising events, or information tables.
* Work with the marketing director to strategically highlight events on social media and in newsletters.
* Assist with marketing tasks such as website updates, taking photos, writing blogs, and assisting with appeals.
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and event volunteers.
* Write meaningful thank you cards or letters upon each donation (unless otherwise stated).
* Send end-of-year tax letters.
* Send welcome packs to each new monthly donor.
* Assist Marketing Specialist with finding innovative ways to engage, recruit, and thank recurring donors.
* Create all appeal and event mailing lists.
* Update Constant Contact on a monthly basis to ensure all new donors and clients receive the monthly newsletter.
Assist with Clinic Duties:
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning, marketing, or a related role.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience with donor management software (Bloomerang) and email marketing tools (Constant Contact) is preferred.
Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Passion for animal welfare and the mission of the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City.
Must have a current drivers license and own form of transportation.
Our Offer
Pay is $16.00/hour
Schedule- Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm, occasional evenings/weekends for events
