    Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally.

    We are currently seeking a motivated and creative Marketing & Social Media Intern to join our dynamic marketing team. We are looking to hire a motivated, young professional eager to learn about various aspects of marketing. This position will collaborate closely with the Marketing and Sales teams, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. It requires a hardworking person willing to take direction and lead projects effectively. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN or Lexington, KY location. This is not a remote position. This is a paid internship.

    This position reports to the Marketing Manager.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute a strategic social media plan aligned with Matrix's mission of advancing safety, productivity, and innovation
    • Build and maintain a comprehensive social content calendar across platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
    • Collaborate with marketing team to create engaging, on-brand content (posts, graphics, short-form video, and captions) that communicates technical concepts in a clear and compelling way
    • Translate product innovations, AI-driven solutions, and industry insights into digestible content for diverse audiences
    • Support promotion of company news, product updates, events, and thought leadership from the Matrix team
    • Monitor social media channels, engage with audiences, and help strengthen Matrix's digital community
    • Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth) and recommend data-driven improvements
    • Stay current on social media trends, especially within B2B, industrial, and technology sectors

    Qualifications & Competencies

    Employment Eligibility & Verification

    All applicants must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the I-9 form, as required by federal law. Additionally, candidates will be required to undergo an employment verification process before beginning work.     • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in technology, industrial innovation, or AI-driven solutions
    • Familiarity with major platforms, especially Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
    • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
    • Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance tracking

    Preferred Skills

    • Interest or exposure to B2B marketing or industrial/technology industries
    • Experience with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
    • Ability to translate technical subject matter into engaging storytelling
    • Familiarity with LinkedIn content strategy and professional audience engagement

    Working Conditions

    • The working conditions are primarily in a climate-controlled office environment.
