Job Title: Marketing & Social Media Specialist
Overview
The Foundry Rowing and Sailing Center, in partnership with MCPC, is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing & Social Media Specialist to lead and execute our digital and content marketing efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community outreach, storytelling, and driving engagement across platforms. The candidate will play a critical role in managing The Foundry’s social presence and marketing strategy, with hands-on responsibilities spanning content creation, campaign execution, media coordination, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Serve as the primary content creator and manager for The Foundry’s social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, etc.)
- Develop and execute a strategic content calendar in coordination with the Senior Marketing Director.
- Schedule and monitor posts through HubSpot; analyze metrics and adjust strategy based on performance insights.
- Use AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper, Grammarly) to generate ideas, draft captions, enhance language, and optimize engagement.
Digital Advertising & Marketing
- Assist in the management and optimization of Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Video).
- Collaborate with MCPC’s central marketing team on digital initiatives that require broader reach or technical lift.
- Support paid social strategy and retargeting campaigns.
HubSpot Marketing Automation
- Utilize HubSpot to:
- Publish social posts and blog articles
- Schedule and track marketing emails
- Create and manage contact lists and segmented workflows
- Build automations for lead nurturing and engagement
Content Creation & Graphic Design
- Use Canva to design high-quality visuals (social media graphics, email banners, flyers, brochures, event materials).
- Collaborate with MCPC’s creative resources when advanced design, video, or production work is needed.
- Use AI image tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Canva Magic Design) to enhance content creation when appropriate.
Media & Communications
- Draft, distribute, and coordinate press releases and media advisories.
- Maintain relationships with local media and identify opportunities for press coverage.
- Support storytelling and PR initiatives with photo/video coordination when needed.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Coordinate marketing activities that overlap with MCPC’s larger campaigns or Foundry-hosted events.
- Attend weekly team meetings to align priorities, brainstorm new ideas, and contribute to campaign planning.
- Provide onsite marketing support for community and fundraising events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in marketing, content strategy, or digital communications
- Hands-on experience with:
- HubSpot (Marketing Hub: workflows, lists, social/email tools)
- Google Ads (Search/Display campaigns, keyword targeting)
- Canva (for social media, print, and digital collateral)
- AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper, Canva AI, Grammarly, or similar content/visual AI tools)
- Strong communication and writing skills; able to adapt tone for different audiences
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Google Analytics or HubSpot reporting
- Knowledge of basic HTML and CMS/blog editing
- Experience in nonprofit marketing or youth-oriented programming
- Interest in rowing, sailing, youth sports, or STEM programs a plus
