    We are seeking a school Social Worker for our YEAR-ROUND operating Day School located in Geneva, IL. This is a full-time position that has a schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

    ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

    With a recently opened state-of-the-art building addition in Geneva, Marklund’s Day School is hiring a dedicated and caring Social Worker to work with students within its Life Skills/Autism and multi-needs programs. Marklund Day School is a well-known and respected nonpublic school serving students ages Pre K-22 who come to our school’s program through partnerships with various Chicago suburban school districts. Marklund Day school provides an environment conducive to learning through specialized curriculum, positive behavioral interventions, and individualized student support. Our highly sensory-driven program features physical and occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, art and music therapy, Snoezelen therapy, computer adapted technology, community programs and opportunities, recreational therapy, aquatic therapy and more.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Provide direct services to students and families
    • Provide crisis intervention
    • Provide consultation and in-service to staff regarding social/emotional needs of students
    • Participate in the identification of students who require intervention
    • Serve as a liaison between homes, schools, hospitals, social welfare agencies, therapists, alternative schools, preschools, public schools and others as needed
    • Assist the Principal in coordinating the building crisis team
    • Prepare a social developmental study in a case study evaluation
    • Participate in IEP conferences including the preparation of IEP goals and objectives
    • Participate in Teacher Collaboration Team meetings
    • Prepare and submit reports regarding the social work program when appropriate

    • Bachelors Degree
    • School Social Worker endorsement (LCSW Certification, LCC Counselor, or MSW)
