    Job Description

    RELIABILITY ENGINEER

     

    The Reliability Engineer supports the business operational needs of the company through engineering activities that drive prevention, detection of defects at earliest phase of product design, continuous improvement & customer satisfaction.

     

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement reliability analysis, design, validation and assessment methods to support successful new product introductions based upon risk analysis
    • Perform various analysis – e.g. reliability allocation, design FME(C)A, warranty collation and reporting, etc.
    • Responsible for performing the product qualification-testing plans, including functional testing, reliability and durability testing, and CE compliance testing
    • Complete product release activities in accordance with phase gate exits and production schedules
    • Work with Test Engineers to implement new test equipment and method based on product reliability specification.
    • Provide technical supports to improve existing product reliability
    • Adopt the domestic and international standards and specifications for applicable products for quality improvements
    • Works with Development Engineering and R&D to perform product design reviews (for reliability, safety, regulatory compliance etc.)
    • Work independently with project team members to develop, design, control, deliverables including reliability plans, performance requirements, quality plans and test methods
    • Perform root cause analysis through Design of Experiment (DOE) for failures happened in reliability testing and/or field
    • Write and review detailed technical analysis reports
    • Provides technical training to lab technicians
    • Works safely and maintains a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
    • Reports safety hazards and work-related injuries to supervision immediately
    • Work effectively and collaboratively with others
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
    • 3+ years’ quality, product, development or manufacturing engineering experience
    • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as DOE, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEA, hypothesis testing etc.
    • Experience with statistical software (e.g. mini-tab, etc.)
    • Demonstrated passion for solving problems and operational excellence
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
    • Basic project management experience and process improvement
    • Must be professionally agile and very comfortable partnering up, down and across a complex business
    • Self-motivated individual, able to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment
    • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, can synthesize problems and easily report them to management

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
