    Job Description

    Martin is a family owned and operated, 4th generation, large and small ag dealership. It was established in 1926 at a farmhouse in Roanoke, IL and has grown into a multi-location corporation with 13 locations in central and west central IL. It has the cultural feel of the small-town environment with the development benefits of a larger corporation. We are a John Deere dealership.

    The Customer Support Representative sells and ensures new service department business by contacting customers and signing them up for service work. Provides support to service manager, technician, parts manager and sales team when needed. Promotes parts department business by discussing different parts programs and options. Provides support to location/facility maintenance to ensure site quality and consistent representation to its customers.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Understand customer base to generate potential service/parts sales for present and future of the business
    • Sells and aligns customer service work with Service Manager and technicians to ensure top productivity
    • Sells service and parts programs and uses them to help build customer relations
    • Advises upper management of potential trends in the industry, attitudes of customers and relays possible additional sales to the sales team
    • Reports daily sales contacts in CustomerHandle to ensure good team communication
    • Completes necessary paperwork/computer work in full and in an acceptable amount of time
    • Maintains attractive equipment displays/lots, adjusting for seasonal changes
    • Gathers information about clients' equipment, operations, buying habits, and records that information into CustomerHandle
    • Assists in the delivery of equipment to customers to assist sales department
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Parts Manager
    • Assists IS department as needed to help answer customer questions while in season and provide off season training to employees

    EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • 2 Year college degree in an agricultural/mechanical field preferred
    • Uses all sales methods properly and in the proper timing.
    • Have a broad knowledge of agriculture equipment, not only John Deere products, but all makes and models
    • Can lift 50 pounds and have mobility for and outdoor field environment
    • Must have a good driving record

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Office, mechanical shop, and field environment.
