    Job Description

    CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTENDANT, EVENTS RECREATION AIDE, SPECIAL FACILITIES AT INDIAN RIVERSIDE PARK MARTIN COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT CONTRACT THROUGH RESOURCE GOVERNMENT SERVICES RAY RATE: $10.00 PER HOUR HOURS: PART TIME HOURS OFFERED ESTIMATED 10-25 PER WEEK SCHEDULE: MOSTLY NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS LOCATION: INDIAN RIVERSIDE PARK, JENSEN BEACH MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, BE ABLE TO PASS CRIMINAL BACKGROUND AND DRUG SCREENING

     

    MAJOR FUNCTION Under direct supervision, provides client services specific to individual special facilities and events; recreation activities for children, adults, senior citizens and other patrons at parks and recreation department venues.

    ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES - Assists in the set-up, implementation and break down of events and activities.

    Assist with facility cleaning.

    Monitor vendors responsible for event set-up and breakdown, janitorial and cleaning and other vendors working at the event.

    Assist with facility operations and report any facility maintenance, safety, incidents or property damage to supervisor.

    Assist with event parking and golf cart operation.

    Monitors one or more private event or special events at an assigned special facility or recreation area.

    Organizes, supervises, and stimulates interest among children and adults in various types of recreational events and activities such as weddings, concerts, 5k walks and races, fundraisers, corporate events, etc.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Provide prompt and quality customer service to special facility clients and guests.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Ability to adjust schedule to include evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

    Knowledge of standard office computer equipment and software applications.

    Answer phone inquiries and give information to the public accurately and courteously.

    Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

    Knowledge of and ability to communicate rules, regulations, and safety precautions related to special facilities grounds, structures and recreational activities.

    Ability to clean and maintain special facilities and equipment; and maintain safety and security of facility and equipment.

    Ability to lead and instruct children and adults in assigned recreational activities.

    Ability to maintain discipline and to solve disciplinary problems.

    Ability to contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license. Experience in special event set up and breakdown, special recreation activities, summer camp programs, public service or related field preferred.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    There is little or no risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety associated with this position.

    Essential Physical Activities: Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception. Frequent lifting of 10 to 25 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

    Ability to work outdoors in a variety of temperature/weather condition.
