    Job Description

    Martin J. Finkle Tax and Business Management is searching for an experienced SR. TAX PREPARER/ACCOUNTANT. This person will handle a high volume of tax returns, extensions, and e-filings among additional accounting responsibilities. If you are able to file a mixture of corporate and personal returns, and are skilled with LaCerte accounting software, we want to hear from you. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Inform and consult with clients on the tax preparation process
    • Gather appropriate materials regarding yearly tax tables, instructions and forms to accurately calculate taxes for clients
    • Prepare a variety of tax forms including personal and corporate partnership returns.
    • Verify tax forms completed by clients to ensure their proper submission
    • Collect relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements
    • Input data from financial records into tax return software or databases
    • Properly research and seek the advice of senior preparers when confronted with challenging tax circumstances
    • Use applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
    • Complete and file tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state and local government entities
    • Additional accounting responsibilities and project work, as needed.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3+ years of experience in accounting and tax preparation.
    • 1+ years of experience with Intuit LaCerte.
    • Ability to prepare multiple types of tax returns including personal and corporate returns.
    • Ability to multi-task and work with a high volume of returns.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
