JOB SUMMARY: Provide leadership and direction to the Purchasing Department in regards to Purchasing and Inventory
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma and Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing or similar field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in Purchasing
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Microsoft Office proficiency
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders
- Negotiating Skills
- Interview and hire staff and oversee training
- Generate Costs Savings ideas to meet annual goals
- Manage MRO crib for accuracy, possible inventory reductions, and replenishment
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
- Resolve vendor and contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
- Report reports as necessary
- Arrange for disposal of surplus materials
- Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling and distributing materials, equipment, machinery and supplies
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office Manufacturing Environment
HEALTH AND SAFETY:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
