    Job Description

    The Staff Accountant should understand the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the functional area. The position works with increased independence in analyzing and selecting solutions from a learned range of alternatives. The position follows defined processes and precedents, but is expected to plan and organize work in the best sequence, assisting the more senior team in project delivery, including client-facing work.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete monthly accounting responsibilities by entering journal entries for various accounts, including account payable, accruals and prepaid accounts.
    • Complete payroll responsibilities by performing regular payroll reconciliations.
    • Provide accounting support by coding vendor invoices.
    • Code A/P invoices to the proper cost centers and accounts and obtaining/verifying the proper approvals for all invoices.
    • Enter A/P invoices into the payable system, assisting the accounting staff in account reconciliations, and ensuring that all monthly account reconciliations are complete, approved and filed.
    • Review T&E expense reports for the proper support and account coding.
    • Prepare J/E's and ad hoc reports from the A/P and billing system
    • Perform inventory management.
    • Document all asset transactions in the fixed asset system.
    • Code A/R billing to the proper cost centers and account and obtaining proper approval for all billing.
    • Enter A/R billing into the appropriate system, assisting in reconciliations and ensuring that all monthly billing reconciliations are complete, approved and filed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Detail and deadline oriented
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • High school diploma required
    • 1-2 years experience in finance and accounting preferred
    • Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
