    We have an immediate opening for an experienced Underwriter to add to our seasoned team as we continue to build and grow our strong network of retail branches.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

     

    • Organize and validate the accuracy of the application and supporting documentation
    • Ensure compliance with ATR/OM standards, investor and/or agency guidelines and adherence to proper disclosure notification timelines
    • Ordering required verifications, requesting documentation and all subsequent follow up to ensure compliance with requisite investor guidelines
    • Requests and reviews conditions to ensure compliance with Agency guidelines
    • Thorough review of borrower credit, income, asset and property to determine risk and evaluate borrower’s repayment ability in order to render a credit decision.
    • Conducts and determines appropriate Fraud Prevention measures have been taken
    • Determine and Communicate final credit decision and/or counter offer solutions to Loan Officer
    • Solid understanding of Investor guidelines and policy requirements
    • Manages assigned pipeline and ensures proper follow up
    • Ensures all required documentation is received, Agency guidelines are met and final underwriting decision is documented and supported

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • DE preferred but not required
    • DU/LP experience
    • Prior experience underwriting to Agency guidelines, helpful but not required
    • Detail oriented with excellent research and decision making ability, time management skills and the ability multitask and to work accurately under pressure
    • Ability to work unsupervised while actively functioning as part of a team
    • Knowledge of Mortgage Lending, Company Policies, Investor Guidelines and  knowledge of current regulations and disclosure requirements for Conventional and/or Government loans
    • Excellent Customer Service and problem solving skills CAN BE REMOTE
