    Work Location, Pay & Shifts:

    The hourly pay rate range for this position is $29 hr + benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to 911 E Jefferson in Pittsburg, KS and may not be applicable to other locations.

    3:15pm to 1:45am shift on Monday-Friday with occasional weekend overtime.

    Overview

    Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts. Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Monitor start-up of assigned area, repair any issues identified during start-up, complete work orders, respond to maintenance calls, maintain spare parts crib and required documentation. Complete equipment moves, projects, and rebuilds. LOTO Certified, Confined space, etc. May exercise some supervision over vendors.

    Skills:

    • Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
    • Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Forklift driving skills and other equipment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
    • Installation - Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
    • Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
    • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
    • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
    • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

    • Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

    • Responsibility -High level of responsibility in ensuring safety conformance, ensure upkeep of all equipment, timely repair of all equipment and to minimize downtime.

    Physical Demands:

    Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. At times required to work at high heights up to 50 ft and on building roof and requires ability to climb a ladder.

    What you will need:

    • HS Diploma and/or accreditation from vocational/technical school in industrial maintenance
    • 1- 5 years industrial maintenance experience working in a manufacturing setting.
    • Ability to read ladder logic and blueprints, understanding of circuit logic and power distribution, perform minor construction, troubleshoot high and low voltage, and possibly rebuild pumps, motors, gear boxes.
    • Welding certificate and PLC knowledge preferred but not required.
